About

The Farm

We are a small family run farm located near Newark NY that strives to grow the best and the freshest produce you can find. We grow the vegetables in healthy living soil using organic and biological practices. Our family eats everything we grow, so the nutrition content of our vegetables is important for us as well as you. We believe our health is tied to the health of the soil where our food is grown, and much of the food today is lacking many of the essential nutrients and minerals needed for good health. You can find our produce at the Canandaigua Farmers Market June through October on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 10 AM to 11 AM every other Saturday November through May. We also sell to Lori's Natural Foods in Henrietta, and Abundance Coop Market in Rochester.

Sustainable Growing Practices

Lettuce on Andy's FarmAccording to Andy, "Our farm focuses intensely on soil health. We accomplish that through the use of compost, cover cropping, crop rotation, bagged organic fertilizers, and rock powders/soil amendments focusing specifically on re-mineralization of the soil. We do not use any synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, treated seeds, or GMO products. Our intention is to work with the natural soil processes to produce the best vegetables and fruit."

About Andy

Garlic growing in a fieldI've been gardening since I was 13 and farming(as a business) since I've been 17. I have a real passion for helping things grow, and growing nutritious, tasty food. I love planting a seed(or rather a whole field of the them) and watching it grow to maturity and bear an abundant harvest. I am committed to farming using only organic, sustainable, non chemical methods. I believe the business of farming is one of the best jobs you can have. Growing good food for people to eat is a very rewarding occupation.
